new recipe hosting site

I found a great site for hosting recipes last week. So excited because it has searchable features and can help me keep better track of the recipes we like in one spot.

Here's a recipe I entered today:
chocolate molasses cookies

by Andrea
Prep Time: 10-15 minutes
Cook Time: 45 minutes
Keywords: bake dessert vegan oil free molasses chocolate apple sauce maple syrup cookie
Ingredients (20-24)
  • 3/4 c. buckwheat flour
  • 3/4 c. oat flour
  • 1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa powder (fair trade if possible)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 c. pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 c blackstrap molasses
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/4 tsp boiling water
  • or use 1 1/2 cups of whole wheat pastry flour
Instructions
Combine flour(s), cocoa powder and cinnamon in a bowl. In a separate bowl, combine applesauce, maple syrup and molasses. Dissolve baking soda in the 1 1/4 tsp boiling water.
Alternate adding the molasses mixture and the dissolved baking soda to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined.
Place in refrigerator for at least 20 minutes or until firm.
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Two options for making the cookies: Either use a soup spoon to drop cookie dough onto parchment paper. Or, roll cookies into balls and then place on parchment paper.
Bake @ 250 degree for 45 minutes or until set. (I use lower temperature cooking because of what happens to food cooked about 300 degrees F).
Parchment paper tip: instead of throwing it away, consider folding it and storing it in the freezer until next time you made a batch.
